This programme focuses on the practical skills required to plan and deliver effective coaching.

Programme outcomes
After attending this programme you will be able to:
. Understand the coaching concept and the situations when it is appropriate to use it
. Understand different learning styles and adapt your approach accordingly
. Apply a step-by-step coaching process to plan, prepare and deliver coaching which is relevant to the situation and the individual
. Identify and deal with any barriers to effective coaching
. Offer constructive feedback to help others improve their performance
. Review the effectiveness of your coaching and take remedial steps
Programme content - 1 day
Typical programme content will include:
. The coaching concept and benefits
. Learning styles and the learning cycle
. Coaching strategies
. Questioning and listening techniques
. Barriers to effective coaching
. Feedback and assessment
Throughout the day each delegate will build confidence by practising the skills learnt through role-plays, activities and case studies. The final part of the programme will require each delegate to prepare and undertake a coaching session. All delegates will not only understand the skills required but will also have practised them in a safe environment and will have developed the confidence to take these skills back to their workplace.
